Coyote Hill
Coyote Hill is a professional home of love for abused and neglected children; and also for children whose families just need a chance to regroup and get a fresh start. We provide licensed counseling and professional social work services.

We provide the child with a safe and healthy place to grow, to learn, to laugh, to love; and to understand what it means to have a life that is full and complete.

Come and see for yourself why Coyote Hill is called... "a place to be a child."

Open House Fun On the Farm
October 9th, 2008

towerBuilding a playground is easier when you have help, so the Volunteers in
Missions team from Morning Star Church in O'Fallon Missouri pitched in. The group has volunteered at
work projects in third world countries and disaster-damaged areas, so Coyote Hill was a relatively local project.

The crew came ready-to-work with tools and gloves, but they also came ready to bless the children and home parents at Coyote Hill. They included the children and built relationships along with climbing structures. Their labor and love has created a new, sturdy play area at the Hubble Home. It will stand for years to come, giving hurt and abused children a Place to Be a Child..

YouZeum!
August 19th, 2008

In a mental warm up for school (Coyote Hill children start on Wednesday) we visited the YouZeum in Columbia on Monday.

Right from the 3D movie at the beginning, the kids loved it. They played all the games, tested their skills, strength and heart rates in all the interactive stations throughout the building. They tested how high they could jump, how long they could balance, and how fast they could react.

After a couple of hours exploring inside, the families headed outside, down Cherry Street to Flat Branch Park for a picnic lunch. Jumping across rocks, the children looked for creatures in the water. One boy found a snapping turtle!

It was a wonderful experience. Thanks to Dr. Ira Hubbell for inviting us to explore the YouZeum!

Camp Is Cool!
August 4th, 2008

For years, Coyote Hill children have enjoyed going to summer camps.  For many of them it will be the first and only time they get the opportunity.  They join the thousands of "regular" kids who learn to paddle a canoe, shoot an arrow and lace a leather wallet this summer.

Home parents Herb and Angel Bailey took children to Barefoot Republic Camp in Kentucky, a non-denominational Christian camp in which they are involved. Herb writes:

Barefoot Republic Camp was an amazing time for all. Some of the older kids would have you believe that they didn't enjoy themselves at all, which is typical of teenagers, but if you were to catch them in a moment of weakness, they can be heard talking about the people and things they did  in the most excited tones.
The scripture for camp this summer was I Timothy 4:12 and the campers learned how to work as a unit through team building exercises. Singing, dancing and laughter could be heard all throughout the campus as youth from different backgrounds found out they had more in common than things that differed.  The week was focused on growing and getting prepared to lead with the theme "We Got Next". Camp historically ends with a battle called Braveheart, which is a glorified food fight between different republics as they attempt to defend their counselors from the mess.

Other Coyote Hill children attended Mt. Zion Baptist Camp and Camp Windermere.  Your donations to the recreation fund, particularly at the Pancake Breakfast, help provide kids these memorable opportunties to be a child.
